Thu H. Le, M.D.
Dr. Le is John J. Kuiper Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Nephrology at University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Her clinical practice is focused on evaluation and treatment of acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and hypertension. Her research program focuses on mechanisms of chronic kidney disease and hypertension. Her laboratory has made major contributions in the understanding of the role of GSTM1 in kidney disease progression. Her translational work has highlighted the importance of gene-diet interactions in kidney disease and that the disease-modifying effects of a nutrient may be influenced by genetics. Dr. Le is Fellow of the American Heart Association’s Council on the Kidney in Cardiovascular Disease, and she received the 2020 American Society of Nephrology (ASN) Distinguished Mentor Award.
